“Me time” is so important.

I used to think that me time was silly and a waste of time.   Wow, was I wrong.  Me time is the most important a persons life.  I will say especially for woman.  We carry a lot more than men.  Don’t misunderstand me, men in this world, carry enough.  But woman, for centuries have carried many of burdens, on their shoulders.  So taking me time is quiet imperative.  Sunday mornings, or early mornings are my time.  My “me time”.  I usually have a cop drama TV show on in the back ground, my coffee, my laptop, my planners, my thoughts and my ideas.  I sketch out designs, write about the next piece I want to create.  I blog and sometimes I just journal.  I have been known to do an art journal page, or surf around Pinterest for the next great home decorating idea. Honestly, sometimes I just sit and reflect.   Zone out in the window and reflect on my life, where I have come from, how far I have come, and how far I can go.   I take time to be grateful for everything little thing I have.  Having me time really helps me stay grounded.  Kind of gives me a feeling of  balance in my life because, lets face it, life is flipping cray cray right now.  We all could use a little “me time’  ALL OF US! Here are a few things you can do to create a wonderfully peaceful “me time”.

  1. Light a candle, grab a cup of tea/coffee/glass of wine/water or your beverage of choice and read your favorite magazine.  Yep, it can even be a trashy tabloid.  😉

  2. Soak your feet in a Epsom salt lavender foot bath.  Really good for relaxation and wonderful for your feet. Ha! you can do this with the above and make it a whole hour or me time!

  3. Grab a notebook or sketchbook,  some colorful pens or markers, stickers or whatever crafty items you may have and start an art journal.  A very therapeutic way to release some tensions and to explore your creative side.

  4. Find a good yoga video and do 20 minutes of yoga or you could just stretch your body for 20 minutes too. This is actually a good use of me time.  I do this often and tend to feel better afterwards.  Whether I felt I was having some negative thoughts or just felt a need to move the body.  Just all around good.

  5. Have a mini spa session, give yourself a manicure, pedicure, or if your “me time” is going to a salon to do that, then do that.  Just do you.  I do this one a lot because I am frugal for one and for two, I just like doing those spa sessions at home. Sometimes having that peace and quite is therapeutic enough.

It is easy to find me time…I dare you to find some “me time”.   Trust me, it is worth it!
